What a cool place this is. Great selection, amazing shop just to look around, and a smoking room as well. Ended up getting a very neat lighter as a souvenir.

Out from the entire Old Town area of San Diego, I like "Racine & Laramie Tobacco, Cigars, and Pipes" the best. Not only the way they well preserved all the wooden interior decorations, and the antique displays (most of them are more than a century old), also the smell 😉 The smell of cigars becomes part of the experiences here when visiting, plus the guy dressed in the 19th century style, you can't beat this little wooden house for that.
This is such a cool place, history on display for all to see, so many antique pipes, stands, lighters and more. I recently stopped by while visiting Old Town with my family. What a little oasis for dad to escape to! I can not remember for the life of me the names of the 3 gentlemen who I talked to (Jeff? Rooster? not positive) but they were so professional and eager to help and share their knowledge on tobacco, pipes and cigars. I ended up taking a little basket pipe home with me as a souvenir after talking with them for easily half an hour. Not once did I feel like they were annoyed by me, my questions, or our conversations, true gentlemen happy to talk about a shared hobby. It is disappointing from my understanding that it sounds like either the State or the Parks Department wants them to leave Old Town. This is downright shameful considering this building was the local tobacconist for over a century in this exact same spot. The employees here also take their jobs so serious you truly feel like you are stepping back in time when visiting due to their clothing attire, speech and personalities. Is this not exactly what should be in a historic district? Please reach out to the California State Park Department to let your opinion be heard.
Exploring history and cigars at Racine & Laramie, the oldest tobacconist in San Diego! This place has been around since the 1800s, bringing together the finest tobacco and gents’ furnishing goods. A true gem for cigar lovers and history buffs alike.
This tobacco shop is really cool! The manager was knowledgeable, helpful and outgoing, helped me pick a few things that I might like. He picked well! Well stocked, with lots of choices in varying price ranges. If you get near here, be sure to stop by and give them some business.
