Worst restaurant experience ever. This place should seriously be inspected by the health department. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty, unclean, and disorganized. The only people there were the owner and one server—who was also the cook—wearing a filthy shirt and handling food with grimy fingers. The food itself was terrible. The pita bread came in a dirty basket, and when we pointed it out, the owner touched the bread with his bare hands and rudely told us it was “all good.” The hummus was dry, topped with just some cilantro, and the labneh was basically plain yogurt—again, just sprinkled with cilantro. Neither had olive oil or any proper garnish. The meat and rice tasted old and far from fresh. I happened to glance into the kitchen, and what I saw was genuinely alarming. It looked far from sanitary, which made me question everything we had just been served. To top it all off, the owner had the audacity to expect a tip. Absolutely unacceptable. Never coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I have been searching for spinach pies every time I visit a new place, and the ones I got from here were perfect. I should have bought a double order. Perfect texture, tangy filling, just wonderful! I ordered carry out and it was ready very quickly. The owner let me know right when I arrived that it would be just a few minutes because they were making the rice fresh — it made all the difference. My food was still hot after I arrived back home to eat and the chicken was so flavorful. I recommend you try this place

We were staying at a hotel on the street and stopped in. The owner recommended the specials and we were not disappointed! The food was so tasty, stuffed eggplant and zucchini. The yogurt sauce to dip pita bread into was delicious 🤤 I have to say for dining experience in San Francisco I was so impressed and happy with feeling attended to, the joy he has in cooking these special meals. The desert served was a fantastic cheese, honey and pastry. Topped off with a recipe tea that I have never tasted anywhere & will be coming back for. A must try… I have no idea what the negative reviews are about. It’s not a chain restaurant, it’s an owner run and loved- there is a lot of pride in the food served.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. They served food on broken plates, and the naan was placed on dusty, moldy trays. I called the manager and showed him the condition of the plates. Shockingly, he touched my food with his bare hands and put it back on my plate—absolutely disgusting! We told them to take it away. If you care about your health, do not visit this dirty restaurant!

We came here after an appointment in SF. Started with some hookah and Turkish coffee. Also ended up getting hummus and lentil soup and the pot of tea. And more hookah. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The owner (Sharky) is very kind and talked to us a lot about his life and how he started drinking Turkish coffee at 9. He's been in business since Aug 1992. Good vibes and a cool place to hang out! Thank you Sharky!!
