I’ve visited Spice House three times in one week because the food and drinks are genuinely that good. Everything I’ve tried has been flavorful, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots. Their blueberry lemon drops, tacos, oxtail dip, and crab legs are my personal favorites. The service, however, has been a bit inconsistent. On two of my visits, my server was very kind and had a great attitude, but she didn’t seem very familiar with the menu, wasn’t able to offer many recommendations, and my, as well as my friends’ drink orders were incorrect more than once on both occasions. She also mentioned that she was one of the managers, which made me even more surprised by the level of service. There were long periods where our table wasn’t checked on, and instead of making rounds through the dining room, she was often at the bar eating and drinking while we waited. Her friendliness definitely helped, but I expected more attentiveness and stronger menu knowledge, especially from someone in a leadership role. My biggest disappointment has been how my lost item was handled. On my first visit, I accidentally left behind a very expensive camera. I never assumed that anyone at the restaurant took it; my intent in alerting the staff was because I just simply wanted to make sure I exhausted every reasonable avenue to determine what happened and hopefully recover it. When I returned to the restaurant, I asked if someone could review the security footage to confirm whether I had walked out with the camera or whether it had been left behind. I was told that only the owners have access to the cameras, which I completely understand. However, when I asked if the owners could be notified or contacted regarding the situation, that request was dismissed instead of being escalated. After that, I even sent the restaurant a direct message on Instagram explaining the situation and again asking about the camera. They responded by saying they had looked around the area where I was seated, but they never addressed my request about reviewing the security footage, which I found a little odd. Again, I’m not accusing anyone of taking my camera, I simply wanted to make sure every reasonable step had been taken to help locate it. The lack of communication and willingness to assist was very disappointing, especially considering the value of the item. I still believe Spice House has excellent food and drinks, which is why I’ve returned multiple times. I just hope they improve their customer service, particularly when it comes to assisting guests with serious issues like lost belongings. A little more communication and willingness to help would go a long way. :)

My sister and I recently visited this place. The server was amazing, a beautiful light skin girl! She was probably the highlight of my time outside of the mimosas. My food did taste great, I had the breakfast burger with fries and we had an appetizer of Suya. I did not each much of the main course. Nonetheless, later in the day my sister and I both were fairly confident that we caught food poisoning. That was the only thing we ate the entire day and we both had quite a few symptoms of food poisoning. Mind you I spent $220 at this place. So I am disappointed and dissatisfied. Great vibe, just would not go eat there, maybe grab drinks. But honestly after feeling like the chances of going back there are slim to none.

My initial impression of Spice House Luxe Buckhead was positive. The drinks were satisfying, and the crab claw appetizer was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Biscoff chicken and waffles, and that dish was very good as well. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered the oxtail dish, which was described as oxtail served over potatoes and peppers with eggs cooked to my liking. When it arrived, the eggs were completely missing, and the portion of oxtail was extremely small—about two and a half small pieces. The meat appeared overcooked and shredded, with bones sticking out. After I pointed out the missing eggs, the kitchen took the plate back. When it returned, the eggs had been added, but there was no oxtail left on the plate. At that point, I was frustrated and asked if the dish could be removed from the bill. I was told they don’t remove items from checks but could bring me a side of oxtails instead. I declined, paid my bill, and left. Based on the drinks, appetizer, and my girlfriend’s meal, I can see why people enjoy this restaurant. However, the execution of my entrée and the way the issue was handled left me disappointed.

Visited spice house this past weekend for my bday! The shrimp and grits were about a 7/10! My boyfriend had the chicken it was crispy but he didn’t care for it. The mimosa was great 10/10! The server was the highlight of the experience. Riri was very sweet and attentive.
