I was once a regular customer, but I will never step foot in this business again. During my last time in, as I was deciding on my purchase, the employee (owner?) looked down at my abdomen, smiled slightly, and swung his arms out wide around his own belly, and said to me: “Wow, you’re fat!” I actually froze for a few seconds because I couldn’t believe what I’d heard. Then, when I confronted him on it, he completely pretended he hadn’t said it at all, and kept deflecting to my purchase. As I angrily told him, never in my 37 years had I ever before encountered a stranger with such little social awareness, nor one displaying such abject rudeness and unprofessionalism. I am not, in fact “fat”, as I have been working extremely hard over the past year to get in shape. Perhaps, sir, you were noticing my muscle mass with some embarrassing jealously? Regardless, I do not need to be body shamed by an oblivious convenience store attendant, and will not be returning. I suggest you steer clear as well (check on the spot a couple blocks down for guys who will treat you right).
