There is nothing better than a place that welcomes everyone like a friend. Absolutely stunningly beautiful location with super comfortable seating, knowledgeable staff, not one but two very well stocked humidors with many selections rarely seen at other shops. Kitchen area with filtered water and ice along with espresso. Oversized full humidification lockers with room for adult beverages that actually stand up. Plus 2 restrooms that are always kept meticulous clean. A private area for members. Outside seating where there is always a group relaxing & enjoying the great company of friends who always welcome new people. A BBQ is often seen smoking as well on holidays & weekends. You've simply got to check this place out. They also have a sister location on very north end of Newark at 608 Broadway.

I have always wanted to visit this lounge/shop. I showed up 50 minutes before closing time on a Sunday. I was greeted by the manager of the shop Steve. I was kindly allowed to use the restroom first without them knowing I would be purchasing cigars. I drove a long distance that night and needed a break so that is much appreciated. The introduction and experience was professional and informative. This shop presents a luxurious atmosphere, which reminds me of a fancy resort. Two humidors, one downstairs and one upstairs greets you upon entrance. The lobby displays the top of the line accesories and decorations such as cutters, lighters, and desktop humidors from Ellie Bleu, and St dupont. The humidor features well known brands alongside exclusive allocated products. The cigars themselves are plentiful, well organized, pricing is clearly visible, and appears very well maintained. Not a single speck of mold to be found. Many shops I have visited suffer from mold and humidification problems. This was not the case at Casa Del Tobaco. Humidification and ventilation also seem top notch with the walk ins and lobby smelling very clean despite people smoking everywhere. The manager was able to accompany me throughout my visit helping with questions, and recommendations with input from other staff members. When doing so they provided plenty of information and their opinions which allowed me to try new things. First impression tells me this shop/lounge is geared towards dedicated patrons who want a exclusive lounge/community experience. This is not a hands-off/self service shop. An essential part of the shopping experience will be interacting with the staff and other members which I welcome and prefer. As far as the lounge itself, based on the exclusive nature of the facility it is focused on its members and dedicated repeat guests. I normally don't have time so this won't be a service I use, therefore the shop is The highlight for me. Thanks to Casa Del Tobaco and it's staff!
Not for the occasional cigar smoker. Seems this place is geared more toward having members who pay monthly. If I smoke 2 cigars a year it’s a lot but I did not feel welcomed at all. I was followed around the humidor like a 16 year old punk looking for a five finger discount. Once we picked out cigars we were told we can sit in the lounge for free this time then next time it’s $25 if I’m not a member mind you a membership costs $200 a month. The non-member area was 2 seats by the front door or a table outside on the sidewalk. Had a good selection of cigars. I was looking for a candela but he said he didn’t carry any. He also seemed bothered we didn’t have a cigar punch or cutter and didn’t want to purchase one for $250. Once again not for the occasional smoker as I didn’t feel very welcomed and definitely not enough to make me want to consider being a member but I’m sure he does well with higher status clientele as it is a nice lounge and setup for the area.
Came here to get a gift for a friend that is a cigar smoker. So I took the advice of the friendly manager and picked up a variety box from the room upstairs. My friend is so happy and keeps thanking me for the quality cigars. If I was a cigar smoker I would be a member here.
I stopped in because I was in the area and was greeted as soon as I stepped in. Very helpful staff and great selection. I stayed for 1 cigar. The lounge is very comfortable. I recommend and will definitely go back.
