After speaking so highly about Donahue's to just about everyone I know, I realized it was finally time to leave a Google review. I've been coming here since 1994. Back then I was buying bubble gum and Marino's Italian Ices from Pat. This is also where I got my very first Silly Putty. Over the years, Donahue's has been more than just a convenience store, it's been the heart of Silver Lake and a place that's woven into so many of my memories. So much so that the street corner is officially named after it! Now I bring my own child here, which makes every visit even more special. The familiar aroma of cigars and coffee, the neon lights, and the nostalgic atmosphere will forever be engraved in my soul. It's one of those places that instantly takes you back while still feeling just as welcoming today. These days I stop in for their excellent beer selection, cigars for a friend's birthday or to celebrate a new baby, pastries, and all the random goodies that have made this place such a neighborhood staple. And I love that they have a Slush Puppy machine, it brings back that same excitement I had as a kid. While I'll always miss seeing Pat behind the counter, it's been wonderful watching the new father and son team carry on the tradition with the same neighborhood spirit and friendly service. I've recommended Donahue's countless times in person and even left reviews on Yelp and other platforms, so I was shocked to realize I'd never left a Google review. I'm happy to finally fix that. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Places like Donahue's are becoming rare, and Silver Lake is lucky to have them.

It's the most awesome neighborhood store you'll ever find. The kind of store that makes you feel like a kid again. Large assortment of candy for the kids, along with toys that'll amaze you. There's also a stationary section, which includes cards for every special occasion. For us, grown-ups are a huge selection of beer, which is great. Coffee and snacks, which make it great when you're in a rush. And let me not forget an original slush puppies machine with about 5 different flavors. The owner, Frank, and his wife make you feel like your family when you stop in. Greatest experience. You'll be happy you stopped in. Oooooh, wait, and there's an awesome cigar shop with an assortment of choices. Check it out!

Young man during day...never know what you get. Sometimes store closed during operation hours and doors locked no note! Other times aggressive and not welcoming. Why come here...waste of time parking. What they sell is great just that daytime guy is off.

I adore the store with all kinds of beer. O God, inside the humid door, you can see all the popular cigars. Just bought couple of cigars and can't wait to try them!

It’s a Great place to go in and grab a sport drinks, beer and cigars! Used to go there after playing Sports on the field in West Harrison But I know my man Frankie is there and I know he will make sure it’s got everything you need and keeps it clean & professional. Frankie has a great attitude and personality! Great spot plus they got an old-school slush puppy machine and a great amount of flavors as well and you can’t beat it. Also they have a real great selection of beer and cigars, so go see Frankie and he will take care of everything! He is a stand up guy!
