This place is nice, easy to get to from the highway, even with a semi plus trailer. Once you turn down the road, read the signs ... take the 3rd entrance and drive to the back of the building. Plenty of space to maneuver and park. A short walk to the front of the store, plus I saw other stores ... not sure if we're allowed to spend the night, but if we are, there looks like a nice food place in the center as well. I just became a "regular" cigar smoker this summer, I've the person who'll smoke a stick once in a great while. It's a great relaxation aide. I ordered from the JR website a few weeks ago and was very happy with the savings, but since I was passing this one, decided to stop in and talk to real people. Nice people. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Bigger savings are online, but it was nice to walk through the huge humidor of various cigars, smell the smells, and see so many variations! I told the salesman I like assortments. He found a great suggestion ... spend so much and get a prefilled assortment bag at a great price, more than half off. They close at 6pm; I arrived at 4:50, but didn't feel rushed at all, but didn't wanna take too long as my truck clock was low. The next time I come, I'll look at all the other products they have. I saw some beautiful humidors. I have a nice one, but have a feeling I'll need more.

If I had not enjoyed so many great smokes and memories over the years I would have given a 1 star review. Let me say first the people who work there have been and still are outstanding. The issue is the care of the tobacco. Moldy stale sticks are a major problem. Sticks covered in salt and glycol from misused humidification system absolutely destroys the sticks. I know smoking isn't good for you. But the common mold spores in a cigar can cause major damage instantly. This is an issue that has been raised in the store. My latest Padron purchase will be the last. It smelled immediately like an old moldy hotel but the stick was bone dry. Likely mildew.

Underwhelming would be an understatement especially if you had visited this once-heralded mecca years ago. First, although cigars are stocked from floor to ceiling, they just represent a cache of the store's limited offerings. Second, they did not carry the full line of Rocky Patel, any Kristoff and only a smattering of CAO. Third, despite an abundance of more "boutique" brands, there were no descriptions attached listing origins of wrapper, binder and filler. Fourth, when I asked for help finding a line that used Brazilian filler, I was pointed to where there were the CAO Brasilia and nothing else- they didn't even have the CAO Columbia (which seemed odd for the store associated with JR Cigars ). Fifth, and finally, prices are on a par (and maybe a bit higher depending upon brand) compared to the other catalogue sellers and even my own local shop. Now, this is not to say that a visit to the JR Cigar store does not have its benefits. If you ever wanted to bond with the disappointment felt by Red Sox fans for 86 years, know what it's like to see your favorite local pub replaced with a TGIF, or to truly understand the dream-shattering angst Duckie felt at the end of Pretty in Pink, then, by all means, endure the traffic of 95 and make a pilgrimage to the once-hallowed home of the company that a long time ago made high-quality cigars affordable to a generation of Americans.

I love JRs most of the staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciate their variety. They also offer discounts for military and first responders. Picked up this beauty today.

Always a great place to ship when traveling near Selma, NC. Large friendly service staff. The store has a large selection of cigars, frequent sales and specials. Cigarettes are also sold there along with a large selection of wine. There are large screen TV set up for those looking to sit and enjoy a cigar in climate control. Highly recommend JR Cigar store. See Mike for excellent service.
