I had one of the strangest and most uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had at a lounge here. A group of friends and I came to red room because we heard the music was good. I arrived first, paid the $10.40 cover, and went inside. The place was nearly empty, & they had no alcohol, but I didn’t mind, because it was around 3am, & the DJ was actually playing great music. After about 10 minutes, I stepped outside briefly to walk another group of my friends in so everyone could be together. When I came back to the door, the same door I had literally just entered & left through…the bouncer suddenly refused to let us back in. No explanation. No policy. No reasoning. Just “nah bro, nah bro, you gotta move.” I explained multiple times that I had already paid the cover and had only stepped outside for a moment. I even told him I just needed to use the restroom and return to the friends who were already inside. Instead of addressing that, he kept repeating “no” and commanded his guard to rush us away from the entrance. At that point it felt less like a misunderstanding and more like we were being deliberately blocked for no reason. One of my friends had already picked up on the weird energy immediately. When staff won’t even explain a decision, it raises serious questions about what the real issue is. It seemed like they had an issue with her appearance & mine??? Mind you, we were respectful. To make matters worse, I have the entire interaction recorded because I happened to be live at the time. So there is literal digital proof that I had paid & was denied re-entry minutes later without explanation. If a business charges a cover fee & then refuses to let customers re-enter after stepping outside for a few minutes, that is essentially taking people’s money without providing the service they paid for. The music was good, but unfortunately the door staff completely ruined the experience. At minimum, I expect a refund for the cover I paid since I was denied entry after already paying. Situations like this are exactly why people hesitate to support certain venues. Basic respect and professionalism at the door would go a long way.
