Stopped by this spot on a Friday evening while cruising down South Main, and the atmosphere immediately stood out. Outside, there were people relaxing, smoking cigars, listening to music, laughing, and enjoying themselves — it honestly felt like a summer family reunion in the best way possible. Inside, the vibe continued with plenty of seating, great music, TVs, and walls decorated with Memphis jazz artists. The setup was unique and comfortable, with recliners, plus even a couple of airline seats that added a fun touch to the space. Behind the counter was their cigar cellar, offering a wide variety of cigars to choose from. The only requirement to enjoy the lounge was purchasing a cigar, which was more than fair. Once we made our selection, they even lit them for us before we headed back outside. One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Melvin. He came outside, introduced himself, shared his story, and explained how and why he started the business. He was incredibly welcoming and even gave us a full tour of the space. Upstairs, he showed us where they host cigar and whiskey classes on Thursdays, which sounds like an amazing date night idea. Overall, this place offers an excellent vibe, great hospitality, and a unique experience in Memphis. While they don’t appear to serve food, there are nearby options like the sports bar next door, making it easy to grab something to eat while enjoying the lounge. I’ll definitely be back!

Very welcoming environment, by both the owner and his patrons. Good selection of cigars, cheap through expensive. But prices seem like a good value. I picked up a couple sticks, sat in the lounger for a couple hours, working on my phone, and got a free beverage. I’ll be back next time. I’m in town.
After Burners is reminiscent to me of the epic cigar bars in and around New Orleans— from where I am proudly adopted. I came with my brother to downtown Memphis (though I live in a suburb of Memphis now) and he insisted on taking me to Max’s (next door). Max’s was fine for a drink or two but my purposive speed is towards a high quality cigar lounge. After Burners (which I insisted we visit) did NOT disappoint in any way, shape, or form. In fact, its service, selection, and courtesy was one of the better I’ve visited, especially in Memphis. I will be returning to this establishment time and again. Excellent spot. 10/10 recommend, with highest accolades. — AMJM
Located downtown on the strip with many other restaurants and bars, sits this really cool place. The decor is awesome, the people are warm and welcoming. It’s clean and the ventilation is really good. You know how most cigar lounges/bars be smoked filled rooms this one is actually breathable. They have some good cigars, I feel like they can add a bunch more to give you more options but you can bring your own sticks in for a small cut and light fee. They owners are knowledgeable and really know what they’re talking about. It’s a full size bar and they aren’t stingy with the alcohol. I definitely plan on going back anytime I’m in the area and definitely recommend the place. For my fellow truckers the uber was 9.83 from the truck stop to the place so there’s really no excuse.
I visited After Burner last weekend and I went in to pick up some cigars. I ended up staying for almost 2 hours. The owner and cigar selection are amazing. As a female, I was completely comfortable sitting with gentlemen and smoking a cigar.
