Today was my first visit - walked in and was warmly greeted by a man I assume to be the owner. Told him I was looking for a place to read a bit and have a cigar - he pointed me to the humidor and let me know he was available for help if I needed The selection of cigars is solid - there’s a few that are out right now but I got an Ashton classic for the lounge and a Hemingway Work of Art Maduro for later. The man showed me a trick for cutting my cigar and then I went towards the back for a quite table The place has a relaxing, unpretentious vibe that I really dig. I’ll definitely be coming back on a regular basis when I need a spot to unwind for a bit
Racial discrimination. Extremely rude and hostile owners. During White Linen Night, the owner screamed in my face in front of a packed bar, falsely accused me of being drunk, and ordered me to leave. I wasn’t drunk, hadn’t caused a disturbance, and wasn’t even the person speaking to him, my white friend was. When I calmly asked what I had done wrong, he never answered. Instead, he got in my face, pressed his body into mine, and continued yelling. As a much larger man, his behavior was intimidating and left me scared. I left in tears. I am 128, 5 foot 6 he was a lot larger beer bellied, gray long beard. I believe I was singled out because I am Black. No one deserves to be publicly humiliated and physically intimidated by the owner of a business.
Went down to Houston for the Chevron Marathon and had to stop by a cigar lounge to see if anyone had any Opus Xs and boy I picked a great place out of the many great places I hear Houston has. Walked in and was greeted by this gentleman named Doug. He was very helpful and pointed me straight to what I was looking for! We had awesome conversation and the hospitality felt like I was at home in “Iowa”. Such an awesome down to earth dude. Definitely recommend this place and will be going back next time I visit Houston! Thanks again Doug, I hope you get to see this! 💯
I didn't buy anything, was hanging out there a couple of weeks ago. Made some friends from the Navy, they bought cigars. We hung out there for a few. It was a great place, with a great atmosphere.
