Hookah lounges in Arkansas - What to know
Arkansas is one of the clearest examples in the country of a hookah scene that ignores the population map. The three listed lounges in the state are all in Northwest Arkansas, the Fayetteville to Bentonville corridor built around the University of Arkansas and the Walmart headquarters, while Little Rock, Conway, North Little Rock and Jonesboro return nothing. The student and international population in the north-west is the obvious driver, and the venues reflect it: Buzz Hookah Lounge on Main Drive in Fayetteville rates 4.8 across 199 reviews and sits in the cheapest price band in the state. The legal frame is the Arkansas Clean Indoor Air Act of 2006, which bans smoking in most enclosed workplaces but exempts retail tobacco stores and any bar or restaurant that refuses entry to everyone under 21, staff included. That is why Arkansas lounges are uniformly 21+ rather than the 18+ you see in states with a tobacco shop exemption. Rogers carries the other two: Mist Hookah Lounge on West Walnut Street holds the highest rating in the state at 4.9, and Crown Hookah Lounge on SE Eagle Way opens Friday and Saturday nights only. Expect $10 to $30 a head.
