Great place to try a vast variety of pipe tobacco's and cigars. The employees are very pleasant to talk with and they seem well educated in their field. One of the several downsides to me, was the drastically out dated and brittle porch furniture offered for their outdoor seating. Also, the interior could use some modern updates and renovations, because for me, it seems very unattended by the owner which unfortunately leads me to question the humidor's effectiveness at maintaining efficient and consistent humidity. The place just seems old and stuffy to me, which is rather discouraging visually to new comers. The prices are mid to high. The pipes are exceptional and worth browsing at. In all, with some much needed updates and renovations, I am sure this small gem of a shop, will prosper more for future patrons to enjoy.

The Briary is a wonderful, stately establishment. The shop fosters a welcoming atmosphere, and a large, varied selection of pipe tobacco. Mr. Skip Elliot was also a pleasure to conversate with. You should definitely pay this place a visit if you are around the area. I will certainly return soon!

Skip is one of the coolest people you will ever meet. He has been the owner of the shop as long as I can remember. My grandfather used to frequent his shop. I got to chatting with him today and he was telling me about another customer of his. Four generations of this customer's family has shopped at the briary. Such amazing stories. I also wanted to add that I typically visit another pipe tobacco store in Huntsville as I work there and it's more convenient. But today I wanted to go to the briary, so I went out of my way to stop. Just realizing my go-to pipe tobacco is half the price here than what it is in Huntsville. Major score. I'll be going out of my way to visit the briary more often.

The Briary is an amazing place to shop for pipes, pipe tobacco, and cigars. The minute you walk in the door, you are met by the owner or one of his knowledgeable employees, all of whom make you feel instantly welcome. Whether you are a seasoned connoisseur or completely new to the hobby, they take the time to guide you through their incredible selection without any pressure. It is more than just a store; it’s a great environment with top-notch customer service. I highly recommend stopping by!

Great shop! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent selection of tobaccos, pipes and accessories. Atmospheric environment that intrigues you from the first sight of the more than a century old building, the comfortable lighting, and the pleasing aroma of all the tobacco blends. Their tobacco blends are priced quite fairly, and are of great quality. If you are a tobacco smoker, I highly recommend The Briary.
