⭐☆☆☆☆ Sold me cigarettes, then falsely claimed I couldn’t have my child with me. I came in as a legal adult with my 3-year-old daughter. The staff member sold me cigarettes without issue—then suddenly told me I couldn’t have my child inside and claimed I “could get in trouble” if police walked in. That is completely false. Under California law (BPC §22962), minors are allowed inside tobacco shops if accompanied by a parent or guardian. I was not trying to purchase anything for a minor, just shopping responsibly. Misinforming customers and threatening them with imaginary police consequences—after making a legal sale—is unacceptable and unprofessional. Not sure if it was the owner or regular staff.

The gentleman who is usually there when I go is very helpful, friendly, and not pushy in any way. The shop has a lot of merchandise and is set up very well.

I went in yesterday at 7:15, as I was looking at something the guy had told me to hurry up. At first I wasn’t sure if I heard him right so I said excuse me? He then responded with: “can you look a little faster because I’m closing. You guys have to go quickly I need to lock up now”. I felt it was very rude, especially since they close at 8.. ?

The guy behind the counter was attentive, although when I asked for the product I was looking for, he didn't have it, and didn't have any idea when they'd be getting more of that product. Instead of leaving empty-handed though, I bought a similar product! I went there for a reason, what's the point of leaving empty-handed? HAVE A GREAT DAY FOLKS!
