This club has 2 floors. The upstairs floor seemed much more poppin' when I went. The DJ played a bunch of throw backs the night I was there and it was a vibe. They keep the place well air conditioned and the service at the bar was relatively fast for how packed it was. This highly recommended for folks in their 20-30s looking for a good time. Beware they do charge cover

Had a great two nights there while visiting from Portland. The people at the door were cool, laid back and attentive to my needs. Came back the following night with a group of people I met who wanted to dance to some 90s music and we ended up getting our own booth to celebrate one of their birthdays! Staff checked in on us and even broke up a near fight later on that evening outside making sure everyone was okay. I told one of the security I appreciated how they made my visit to the city that much better! Hope someone sees this from there!
The drinks here are just ok. Pretty quiet until the college crowd comes through but my crew had a great time dancing regardless. DJ didn’t take requests but played some great 90s/2000s hits.
Horrible customer service! Was my first time coming, asked a male bartender how to go upstairs, and they said “you go upstairs.” ….huh? Super helpful hahaha. Guard was very rude and the wait for going upstairs was way too long. Was not considerate nor kind. To add on top of this, I HAVE AUTISM. So if you have any disabilities I don’t recommend this place. There are a few staff members who are nice but there are some who aren’t. Do better. Have better training for your employees, especially since there may be people that come who have DISABILITIES. UPDATE: I went back recently. Went with my friends. We were all very drunk. One of my friends lost her ID. She asked if she could just grab it. And had walked passed a curtain and the guard PUT HER HANDS ON HER AND CUSSED HER OUT. She is a woman. We have trauma with men getting physical. She got very agitated and started cussing at the guard. I apologized for the behavior, but RAVEN BAR SHOULD ALSO APOLOGIZE. They were not empathic in the slightest towards her when she was the one who got GRABBED and cussed at. Don’t even try to respond with a snarky comeback LMFAO because Raven Bar, you know the truth. Even though my friend was acting immature and even though it would’ve been 100% justified if we got kicked out, I stand by the fact that your workers are INCREDIBLY aggressive. They take things very personally. That specific guard gave me the impression that he was going to physically harm us. No kindness and no empathy in his demeanor. I have severe PTSD. I was traumatized. I felt like having a panic attack because of the situation going down, ESPECIALLY because of his behavior. He usually guards the stairs. Luckily, there was 1 worker I spoke to who was 100% reasonable and understanding. He was very kind, respectful, and empathetic. He had longer hair and was a POC. He said he was willing to work with me because he understood how I felt. He knows who he is. GET PROPER TRAINING. TAKE A COMMUNICATIONS CLASS. AND, DON’T BE A BOUNCER/GUARD IF YOU’RE GOING TO CUSS WOMEN OUT, AND PUT YOUR HANDS ON US WHEN MY FRIEND SIMPLY WANTED HER ID. WE WERE NOT. A. THREAT. WHEN PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN WOMEN ARE VERY DRUNK AND VULNERABLE, MAKING US FEEL PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY UNSAFE IS NEVER OKAY. I recommend Q Bar. They are 100X BETTER. DO BETTER. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. 0/5 STARS.
Raven Bar is the greatest disappointment I have experienced in SF. My friends and I came here expecting a fun night out with a friend to celebrate their last few weeks in SF and were met with dishonesty, aggression, and a lack of hospitality. I am being 100% honest when I say that you should not come here if you are expecting to be treated well by the staff. We had put our names on the waitlist ahead of time, but because we put it in the wrong text box on the form, the staff insisted that we pay the full cover charge. They refused to listen to our explanations, so we paid the full cover and went in. It initially took a long time for us to be let upstairs, but when we did manage to go up, we had a few minutes to dance together. My friends and I were excited and started hugging and lifting each other with our arms. The bouncer came over to tell us to stop fighting, and we tried to clarify that we were all friends celebrating and that we wouldn’t do it again. The bouncer left and we resumed partying in another corner. A few minutes later, the bouncer came over and put me in a chokehold, dragging me out of the club. I ended up developing bruises on my back from the force that the bouncer applied. My friends tried to get an explanation from the bouncer, but he refused to communicate with us. We managed to get a conversation with the club manager outside and tried to explain that the whole situation was a misunderstanding. The manager listened to our explanation thoroughly but refused to acknowledge that the bouncer had applied excessive force. Personally, a chokehold is way too much force to apply to the patron of a bar, especially one who isn’t actively a threat. Maybe that’s just my opinion. The manager agreed to give us a refund on our cover charge. We got our money back, but we still felt robbed of our dignity. At the end of the day, we felt misunderstood, gaslit, and assaulted by power-tripping staff. I would not recommend this bar to anyone.
