This is a great spot off the highway. I stop in anytime I’m in the area or driving down I-75. They are very friendly and well educated, not just in Kava and teas either but in life. I’ve posted up to work between appointments and just hung out. Good spot and great people. I’ve never had a negative experience at The Bay!

This place is amazing! The drinks are high quality and taste amazing. The kava and kratom here are the highest quality I have experienced in the Tampa area. The owners are really kind and really care about what they are doing and the environment of the lounge. This place is a perfect place to work or relax. If you are in the area, give it a try! You will not be disappointed.

I’m from New Jersey where Kava lounges are few and far between, so having access to so many here in Florida has been a joy. However, not all Kava houses are built the same and I have been to some that are quite weird, offputting, make bad drinks, or are poorly designed- sometimes all at the same time! The Bay is totally different, and stands out above the rest for me. Their vibe is communal and welcoming but with a certain level of class. They put movies on the tv’s (and have a great sound system) which lends to the feeling of being at a friend’s house for movie night versus sitting at a bar with strangers. This feeling is supported by the other guests who have always been friendly and open anytime I’ve come in. The environment is clean, well kept, nicely designed, and very comfortable. I’ve fallen in love with the Butter Beer Kava Drink, which I’ll get in 16oz of Kava and the rest in flavor, which will last me about a week at home in the fridge since I’m adding just a bit to my teeccino at night. It’s the perfect sleep aid and relaxing evening ritual. I’m sooo glad I found The Bay. Oh, and the staff is wonderful too (shout out to Alex)! Really present, upbeat, friendly, and always consistent with their drink making. The hours are great too- as someone who doesn’t really drink or enjoy traditional bars it’s nice to be able to have a nonalcoholic equivalent. I just keep thinking of things that I like about the place! Lol.

Alli is absolutely incredible. From the moment I walked in the first time, she was so personable and kind & made my time there so enjoyable. She continually remembers me & my order- Not to mention the drinks are all organic which is such a huge plus! I highly recommend coming & seeing Alli, you will not regret it!

I heard they give you a deal if you leave a good review, but that takes away the honesty because someone is staring at you to complete it. The atmosphere is nice in terms of how it looks but I'll be honest, I've heard not so great things from other kava bars about this place. I decided to check it out anyways since I just moved to the Palm River area. When walking in, it already gave off a weird feeling , very tense. I asked about the back room when wandering but I was told that it was a private relaxation space for either events or members only. I asked what kind of events and it was interesting to say the least for such an exposed area. The members only didn't make much sense because the owner had all his kids running around in and out of the space. Would have hated buying that membership. The kratom is good in flavor (which is just sweetener) and cheap, but its pretty weak. I got a 32oz and I honestly didn't feel much. I guess you get what you pay for. They don't really know anything about the kava, they have no clue its origin. I tried a double and I'll be honest, I did not like it at all. I'm more a kava drinker but this just was not it. Anyways, would I be going back? No. I think most reviews are just from quick purchases versus people who actual stay for the kava bar experience.
