My experience left me feeling stereotyped and unwelcome. Tonight, four of my family members and I came to celebrate my sister's birthday after receiving a recommendation from a family friend. When we arrived, we spoke with a young man about seating. We asked if a table for 10 was available, and he explained that they could only seat six people per table. We then asked if, after another party left, we could be seated at adjacent tables. He told us that wouldn't be possible. Since sitting together was important to us, we decided to leave. About 10 minutes later, the friend who recommended the restaurant encouraged us to come back and not worry about sitting together because they wanted my sister to enjoy her birthday. At that point, there were only five of us returning. When we walked back in, we noticed that several parties had already left. We also observed a young woman instruct the staff to move a party from a table behind two six-top tables to a center table. After that change, there no longer appeared to be an option for a larger group to sit together. That was perfectly fine—we understood. However, when the hostess approached us, she immediately said, "I can't seat a party of six." This confused me because we were only a party of five, and the previous employee had already explained the six-person table policy. As I tried to clarify what the young man had told us, the hostess became noticeably passive-aggressive. She stated that he didn't have the authority to discuss seating arrangements. That raised more questions for us because he had been the person who initially greeted and assisted us. The interaction became increasingly uncomfortable. It felt as though the conversation shifted away from simply explaining the seating policy and became more about asserting authority. Her tone became more confrontational, and while I spoke louder so she could hear me over the already noisy restaurant, I was not yelling or attempting to cause a disturbance. I simply wanted to understand the inconsistency. She then stated that we couldn't be seated because parties larger than six required a reservation. Again, we were only a party of five at that point, which made the explanation even more confusing. I left with a bad feeling about the experience. While I can't say with certainty what motivated the interaction, I personally felt stereotyped and treated differently than I expected. The inconsistency in the explanations and the hostess's demeanor contributed to that impression. On a positive note, the restaurant itself looked beautiful, and the atmosphere seemed lively and enjoyable. I don't place any blame on the young man who initially assisted us, as he was courteous throughout the interaction. Despite this experience, I may return another day to see whether the service and overall energy are different. I genuinely hope this was an isolated incident because the establishment itself appeared to have a great vibe.

I have never experienced treatment like this at a hookah lounge. We were told we would be charged per person, despite this apparently not being their normal policy. The woman working was incredibly rude and adamant about not serving or accommodating us, even while the men working there were attempting to work with us. What made the experience even more disturbing was looking around and realizing that we were the only Black/African American customers in the establishment. Given the difference in how we were being charged and treated, it was very difficult not to view the situation as racially motivated. We ultimately felt completely unwelcome and as though our business was not wanted because we were Black. The woman’s behavior in particular was hostile, dismissive, and unacceptable. I would strongly caution other Black customers about spending their money here. No one should walk into a business and be made to feel like they don’t belong because of the color of their skin.
We’ve been here numerous times and it’s always a pleasant experience. They are consistent with the quality of the hookahs (which last a long time) as well as the food. The overall vibe of the place is very special; there aren’t many options of a place that looks this good and services hookah in the Chicagoland area. There are plenty of parking options nearby and the menu is reasonably priced. Only small negative remark is that a 15% tip is already included in the bill.
I definitely wouldn't come back. Service was terrible and customer service. Beware you will be charged $25 per person on trop of the hookah even if someone with your group isn't smoking.
Yesterday visited Blue Hookah. So comfy and amazing place! Thanks a lot to the owners of this place. They made our day:) Good service, quality hookahs, different flavors, cozy ambiance. Definitely will be back and recommend it to all my friends.
