I hadn't been into Diebel's in 20 years after moving out of state. Back then I was a cigarette smoker, and they were there only place in town that sold high-quality rolling tobacco. I still miss rolling up the Peter Stokkebye every dang day, specifically the Stockholm, Norwegian, and Amsterdam. I recently moved back to KC and have since become a pipe smoker, so I decided to drop into Diebel's and check out their tobacco offerings. The face behind the counter changed, but the environment was exactly the same: respectful, friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Ali ran me through the gamut of their pipe tobaccos, let me smell nearly every jar, and recommend a couple from every category. Even after my selections were made, he indulged my jabbering and let me check out some of the pipes they had on hand. I wasn't looking for a new pipe, but he pulled one down that fit my hand perfectly. When checking out he recognized my last name and inquired if I had a sister (who only occasionally stops in to buy cigars for her husband). Needless to say, but that level of customer service and care is a rarity. It's a testament to Diebel's culture that faces have changed, but the spirit of the shop has not. Thank you Ali. You'll be seeing me soon.

This is a great place to grab a few cigars, lighters, cutters, tobacco pipes and anything you could find in a man cave. Good selection of Rocky Patel, Oliva, and My Father’s and others. Aside from the tobacco related products, there is a wide variety of chess boards and board games available as well as a few other novelties. Truly wonderful service.

Last week I bought my first pipe there and had a great experience. I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name that helped me but he was very patient and knowledgeable about their selection. He also suggested a great oriental blend that I thoroughly enjoyed. I ended up purchasing a Savinelli 645 KS and I love it. It’s become a new ritual I enjoy very much and I’ll be back for my next pipe hopefully very soon. Edit: April 4th, 2025 I have been back twice in the last three weeks. Once for a new pipe for myself and again today to get a birthday gift for a close friend. Ali took great care of me once again helping my find the perfect gift and finding me a great new tobacco to enjoy for myself. Service from Ali is always professional with a great sense of humor to make for an enjoyable experience. Thank you again Ali for your patience in helping me find the perfect pipe and great tobacco recommendations.

I just stopped in on March 14th to check them out. The young man at the counter was very knowledgeable about the different pipes and cigars. They took the time to answer all my questions and didn't rush me at all. I'll definitely stop in when I'm back in the area. They have a great selection of pipes and accessories along with a decent selection of cigars.

I had a fantastic experience here as a first time pipe smoker! Ollie was incredibly helpful and took the time to walk me through all the nuances of their house tobacco blends, allowing me to smell and understand each one before making a decision. As a newbie pipe smoker, I really appreciated his patience and expertise—he even gave me a quick rundown of the basics to help me get started. Exceptional customer service and a great selection. Highly recommend!
