Wishing I could rate 10 stars for this local small business. The owner Ashely shared a recommendation for a Louisana moonshine and I’m addicted. Love my hometown store.

I’ll start by saying this is a great local store with a more knowledgeable staff, including the younger ones, than any other liquor store in Lake Charles. I happen to be blessed to have a substantial selection of whiskeys that I choose to share with those close to me that may, for any reason, not have been able to attain something that they’ve always wanted to try. I have been able to get so many of the special bottles in my collection at this location. Not to mention the owners Store Single Barrel Pics, that in my opinion, are some of the best out there. But I want to expand on the “store” because it is so much more than that. Almost weekly the owner hosts tastings, “Cool Kid Fridays”. These tastings are opportunities the owner creates for not only alcohol vendors to come in and showcase their products or for ppl to come try new spirits, but also for many other local very small boutique businesses to come in and share their products with a market they might not be able to reach. Some of the best cheeses, humus, Cajun specialties, and deserts are showcased at these events. But let’s not forget the things that happen when the store isn’t full. When a school needs a donation for a fundraiser or a place to sell raffle tickets, when your organization is trying to put something special together for an event, when you’re searching for something special for someone in your life, the owner has been a huge supporter for all of these things. The continued support this business has shown to the community is an exemplary example of what small businesses can be. So much more than a “Liquor Store”…
One of the best stores I’ve been in. The selection was great. The staff is friendly and intelligent, and the owner is hands on. She routinely takes time to introduce my wife and I to new wines that she believes we will like because she’s made it a point to get to know us. Not to mention, she has some of the best picks for single barrel bourbons.
They go out of their way for their customers, which is something you won’t find at larger stores. The owner special orders wine for us that we use to have to get shipped. Also, last night we realized I was out of wine 10 minutes before close. My husband went to get it and I called them. The wine was waiting at the register when he got there and Abby was ready with a smile, not mad that it was last minute. There’s something to be said for that kind if customer service!
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t just another liquor store, it’s a place built for people who truly appreciate good whiskey and quality spirits. The whiskey selection alone is top-tier, whether you’re hunting for something rare, exploring new pours, or grabbing a trusted favorite. But what really sets them apart is how deep their shelves go—bourbon, rye, and an incredible variety of other spirits that cater to every taste. What I love most is their support for local. You’ll find some seriously solid bottles made by local folks, which makes every purchase feel like you’re giving back to the community while enjoying something unique. And then there’s Ashley and her team they’re the heart of the place. Friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help you find exactly what you’re looking for (or something you didn’t even know you needed). That kind of service is rare, and it’s what keeps people coming back. Having a store like this local to me is something I don’t take for granted. Whether you’re a seasoned whiskey lover or just getting started, Lake Street Liquors is a must-stop.
