I will not be shopping here again. Just before noon on May 23, 2026, there was a rude Black woman with glasses working there. For context: I had my hood on my head because I had just got in from the pouring rain. Before I can take two steps in, she shouts “take your hood off” … I initially ignored this because I thought it was bizarre and rude, especially when you’re tending to three customers in front of you. Also, how is that your first words to a customer walking in, especially from the pouring rain? She then proceeded to follow me to the back and shout again, “you have to take your hood off.” When I asked her why, she scrambled over her words and lied that it’s store policy. I know it’s a lie because I looked it up and couldn’t find any such policy that states that. This was just a person on a power trip while having a cashier job. Anyway, I ended up leaving without purchasing the small thing I went there for because who wants to be in the vicinity with such a rude person who can’t show someone basic human decency? A private “could you take your hood off please” would’ve been better than shouting a demand from across the store, as if I’m a child. Also, this woman had no idea of my background. I could be a Muslim woman wearing a hood because I didn’t want my hijab to get soaked in the pouring rain, and I needed some type of head covering. She immediately profiled me and assumed I was there to steal, when I was there to get cat food. Never have I ever experienced something like this. I’ve never been told to take off an item of clothing in anywhere that I’ve ever gone and I’ve been to a lot of places. What a shame that someone in such a small town like this is treating people with such unkindness. I honestly hope she reads this: As a Dollar General employee, you are not anyone’s boss. You are not anyone’s teacher. You don’t go up to anyone and say they “have” to do anything because you don’t have that authority. They will not build you a statue in front of the store. If you left today, they would replace you today. I know you have a job to do, but think about what your job would do for you. There is no policy that states you have to monitor what a customer is wearing. That is a lie you made up because you wanted to feel some type of control. I hope God fixes your heart and helps you understand why you needed to try to embarrass another human being just for a $7 per hour job.

First time going here last night. An employee was standing inside the doorway informing everyone that they were closed. I asked what was closing time and she said 10pm. She was aware that it was only 9:20pm but said that, because the line was so long, the manager told her not to let in any more customers.😱What the heck???

Store is pretty neat and well stocked. Customer service is like the luck of the draw. Some workers are polite and others....well let's just say service could be a little better. Lines are short most of the time so you are in and out quick.

Rude and unprofessional. This was my 1st time shopping there and its my last. Went in there to pay for my items and my card was declined. The cashier was ON THE PHONE and without even asking me if I had another way to pay (WHICH I DID), she yanks my stuff out of the bag and says next. I tried calling the store to speak with a manager but I guess they know their employees are trash because they not answering.

Store has undergone a good transformation since my last review. It is under new management, and shelves are chock full and coordinated, good fronting practice is used. Associates are much nicer and more helpfas well. I include the managers in thar!!!
