When I decided to quit smoking cigarettes again & get a vape instead, I went here. I live in the neighborhood almost all my life & they are very well known. Plus when I was in college, I decided to start rolling my own ciggs & they were nice & helpful. They were still nice & helpful when I went there but I thought they'd have at least a decent selection of vapes but nope. This was like 2 years ago though. I ended up getting a vape that was very.. meh.. I plan on returning because basically no one delivers to the NYC area which is BS imo & I live in the neighborhood still & am trhing to find a good vape shop somewhere clise to home. I'm hoping they have more since its been about 2 years. I will update this review after going there very soon.

I came in here to check to see if they have improved their Kratom Selection, and I noticed there was still a product that I tried before Brand name Ocean which sells 10 30mg tablets in one bottle for 30$ , I bought 2 of these during a time where my Kratom tolerance was very very low for 30$ a bottle which seemed really great! and at the time a 30mg tablet would have definitely made a difference for the discomfort I was in but one tablet and 20-30 minutes later I felt absolutely nothing and so I ate another in hopes, nope nothing 30 minutes later still nothing and next thing you know the entire bottle is gone and no analgesic effects were produced by this Ocean 70h brand.. so I decided to come in since I was in the neighborhood and you know tell someone in the store about it but the guy I spoke to I think his name is George tall guy eccentric and quirky, I start telling him, that at the time when I bought these, my tolerance was very low, hence why I bought them because they were 30mgs for 30$ and felt nothing, he kept saying well because your tolerance is very high, and I kept trying to tell him this was at a time where 30mg was a lot to me and excited to benefit from it and didn’t feel it, mind you I tell this guy, this brand doesn’t even a website and the lab report is from a different product, he was like No this brand has a website! So I ask him to pull it up, and lo and behold no website was found. I proceed to say, this product definitely doesn’t have 30mg of the Kratom alkaloid concentrate in it, and it’s false advertising, and he goes on about so you’re telling me not to trust the distributor who gives me all these products? I said that’s not what I’m saying what I’m saying is the product from the ocean company says 10 count 30mg tablets, and these are definitely no where near 30mgs - and then he says you didn’t feel it cause tolerance, I repeated to him I did not have a tolerance to 30mg tablets, all I’m saying for your benefit that if someone experienced with Kratom alkaloid of 7-OH comes in, maybe don’t try to sell them these, because they have no effect and they falsely labeled, who knows what’s in it, you know like as an actual consumer of this product not 1 bottle but 2, and then he gets all angry at me saying you just crossed the line… well if the line is being crossed, you are offended that someone tells you don’t be a predator towards people looking for a supplement to bring pain relief and don’t try to sell this BS Ocean 7 hydroxy product… Typical Money Hungry Predators who don’t care about the customer just the profit, you’re going to sell those, if you even actually do and it’s not going to be worth it for you because people take their 7-OH seriously, and for you to keep a brand, that has no website, no official lab report and evidently doesn’t have nearly as much 70H as it is listed, how can you trust something like that enough to sell to people… oh yeah , you don’t really care about the people, you care about the profit not the product or the customer… I love how he got mad for the most unethical reason it’s hilarious,
So for the past few years, I’ve been buying cigars here on and off as a last-minute option whenever I’m suddenly in the mood for something different. Unfortunately, over time I’ve noticed the humidor developing more of a musty smell rather than that rich, unmistakable aroma you expect when walking into a properly maintained humidor. The last several cigars I purchased have also tasted off and burned poorly, but the final straw for me happened earlier this month when I bought a Chupacabra cigar and tried smoking it the same day. This is a cigar I’ve had many times before, so I know exactly how it’s supposed to perform. I’ve also been smoking cigars for decades and consider myself a very experienced, old-school cigar enthusiast. I know what a properly stored cigar should smoke like. This particular cigar would barely burn and had almost no draw at all — like trying to suck air through a straw. When I examined the foot/cherry, there was a clear tunnel straight through the center. No matter what I tried, it would not burn properly or produce any real smoke. Completely unsmokable. A few days later I returned to the store, explained the issue to two employees, and showed them photos I had taken. I’m not sure of their names, but the tall Chinese gentleman who helped me was very polite and apologetic. He said he would notify the company. I also mentioned that reputable cigar shops will usually replace a clearly defective cigar, and to his credit, he took me into the humidor and allowed me to pick a replacement, which I appreciated and felt was the right thing to do. I brought the replacement home and let it rest in my humidor for a few days. Yesterday, May 16, 2026, I attempted to smoke it — and experienced the exact same issue. Strange taste, poor burn, and almost immediately another hole developing straight through the center. In all my decades of smoking and trying just about every cigar imaginable, this was a first for me. From my experience and understanding of tobacco storage, this is typically the result of cigars that were at one point allowed to dry out severely and were later rehumidified improperly. The wrapper and binder regain moisture first, while the filler tobacco in the center stays drier much longer. That causes the center to burn far hotter and faster than the surrounding tobacco, leading to tunneling and an uneven, unsmokable cigar. Sadly, I won’t be returning, which is disappointing because the location was very convenient for me. They really need to do a better job maintaining their humidor — including properly monitoring humidity levels, using only distilled water, and possibly even revamping the humidor setup entirely.
Bought 2x 18650 batteries, sales person told me they were 2000mAh, they most certainly are not. My charger outputs 0.4 A, it takes 2hr34mins to fully charge these batteries. That means these batteries are only ~1000mAH. Half the size the sales person described them as. I doubt this is intentional, I assume the sales person either grabbed the wrong batteries or was simply misinformed, but getting half the size of the battery you were told about is frustrating.
Cigar Emporium has a great selection of smoking products to choose from, which also includes vaping. Upon entering the store, cigar byproducts can be found on the left and vaping product line on the right. The humidor is to the back of the store and can comfortable fit six customers with enough space to browse to selection mounted on the wall. If you keep a few bottles of good Scotch around the house then purchase some cigars to pair with it. Great service here, you have to pay them a visit.
