I want to share a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this wholesale tobacco store so other business owners are aware. I am a regular customer and have been dealing with this store for a long time. Sometimes I personally come to purchase, and other times I send my employee to pick up orders on my behalf. We buy from them frequently, and all my business documents, tobacco license, and information are already registered and saved in their system. Usually I pay cash, and on several occasions when I had a remaining balance, I paid by check and they deposited it immediately without any issue. Today, I sent my employee to pick up the order because I only had a check available and no cash. Before he went, I called the store and clearly confirmed that payment by check was acceptable as long as they could deposit it the same day. The staff agreed. My employee arrived, collected all the merchandise, and everything was packed and ready. When he went to complete the payment using the check, the manager came out of his office, saw the check, and suddenly changed the situation. From the beginning, the manager spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner, raising his voice and showing no professionalism toward my employee. He refused to accept the check and insisted on cash only, even though the payment method had already been confirmed by phone and checks had been accepted from us before. My employee explained that they could deposit the check immediately, but instead of resolving the issue, the manager kept creating excuses. He asked again for the business license even though all our information is already stored in their system. Then he brought a three-page “policy” document and demanded it be filled out, despite us being long-time customers with verified records. Every time one request was addressed, another excuse appeared. It honestly felt like the issue was simply that the payment was not cash. The manager’s behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable toward a loyal customer and staff member who have been doing regular business with them. My advice to other customers and business owners: if you do not have cash, think twice before going there — even if payment by check is confirmed beforehand, you may face last-minute changes, unnecessary complications, and poor treatment. Respect, consistency, and professionalism are essential in business, and unfortunately today none of these were demonstrated.
