Visiting from Houston and found my new favorite hookah spot in Austin. The owner, Emad, treated me like family from the moment I walked in. The hookah was insanely smooth — same bowl lasted 4 hours and never got harsh once. They’ve thought of everything too: BYOB, patio fans, even bug spray outside for guests. The atmosphere is safe, respectful, and genuinely welcoming. There are some food trucks if you get hungry but the nearby Iraqi food from the main restaurant was unreal — hands down some of the best Iraqi kabob I’ve ever had. Fresh, perfectly seasoned, tender, and tasted like home! You can tell the owner truly cares about creating an experience, not just a business. As a visiting tourist and first time going to a hookah lounge, this was the best place to go! My more experienced with hookah friend and I were in town and this was one of my favorite things to do while I was in Austin. They have an Iraqi food truck in the same lot and it was incredibly flavorful. The hookah options were fun to pick flavors from but def not a regular weekend choice of activity. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They also have a cute stray cat that comes on their property and they feed it! 🥹

It was rainy, they weren't opened. Out doorzy, there were a lot of yellow jacket wasps roaming around before the rain fell. I wanted to check this place out, the jamaican food, and the thrift shopas well, but they were all closed. Online said it was open.

I have a great time every time I go to Diwan. Its a relaxed environment with Turkish foods, drinks and hookah. I bring my business partners here to relax and talk business and it is the perfect surroundings with food trucks providing different cultural meals. My favorite is the kanafah and Turkish coffee.
