I never experienced racism in America as an immigrant until I visited this store. Timeline (for camera review): - San Benito store: 8:10 PM – 8:40 PM - Harlingen store: 8:45 PM – 8:52 PM At the San Benito store, there was an employee named Ryan who was very rude to me. He asked me to leave because my ID had expired, and I completely understand that he was following the rules. I have no issue with that. After stepping outside, I wondered whether showing a picture of my passport would be acceptable, so I went back and asked him. He again told me to leave, which was fine, but the way he spoke to me felt extremely rude and disrespectful. I personally felt that I was being treated differently because of my skin color, and the interaction came across to me as discriminatory. Since I still wanted to make a purchase, I went to another Vape City location in Harlingen and brought my physical passport with me. An employee named Ralph assisted me. However, while I was speaking with him about what I wanted to buy, I noticed that he took a picture of me and appeared to send it through a WhatsApp chat. I request that management review the security camera footage to verify this incident. I immediately asked him why he had taken my picture. He quickly took his phone, deleted the image from the chat, and showed me his phone while denying that he had taken my picture. During my visit to the Harlingen store, I also informed Ralph about the unpleasant experience I had at the San Benito location. After leaving, I called the Harlingen store to report what had happened. Ralph answered the phone, and when I explained that I wanted to file a complaint, he said that he would write everything down. He took notes on a sticky note, although I do not know whether the information will be forwarded to management. It is disappointing that people still feel that they are experiencing racism and discrimination in 2026. I hope this matter is investigated properly and that everyone is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their background or skin color.

If you want a great experience and great customer service go see K in the San Benito location. I was originally going to the Ed Carey location until I had horrible experiences with “management”.

I know I’m not the only one, today I went to vape city at about 7:45. I never met a more difficult person to deal with. He took back the defective vape, handled it around and then asked me to inhale from it after he touched the mouth guard. Then tried to refuse service when I didn’t want to take a draw from it. Worst experience ever at this location. I will never go back there again!

A skinny kid named Ryan was being very rude just by asking a simple price question stating he doesn't have time to be answering questions. When that is his job.. this is a major concern cause he was being very hostile and aggressive with the way he was speaking

Kick me out of the store because I told them my wife told me to try out a flavor. And they assumed it was for her.
