I just wanted to share a lovely little moment from the other day. I stopped by this shop to pick up a vape, and the man behind the counter was incredibly kind and welcoming. As part of the purchase, he asked for my ID and he immediately noticed something: I was not wearing my hijab in person, but my ID photo shows me with it. I smiled and explained, “I’m wearing my hijab in my ID photo. Lately, I don’t always wear it when I’m out, but when it comes to government-issued identification, I choose to wear it. And of course, I always wear it at the mosque.” (I hate that I let that happen. May Allâhﷻ help guide me back to Hijab, Ameen 💜.) He paused, smiled, and asked gently, “Are you Muslim?” I said, “Yes, both me and my husband, Alhamdulillah” and gestured toward my husband standing beside me. His face lit up. He said “Alhamdulillah!” with so much sincerity and joy. He then asked if we were Shia or Sunni. We told him we’re Sunni and again, he was genuinely happy and said he was too. This world can feel so divided, but moments like this—these reminders of our shared faith and kindness, they soften the heart in ways words can't always explain. May Allah ﷻ bless that brother, his business, and all of us striving to walk this path with sincerity. Ameen. 🤍 JazakAllahu Khayran to him for his adab, warmth, and generosity. 💛🌷☪️🕌
