I was in Baton Rouge visiting family for the weekend and made my first stop at Habana Port Cigar Merchants. As someone who enjoys seeking out harder-to-find cigars, I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The entire shop is essentially a massive humidor with an incredible selection and variety, including several sought-after rarities and vintage cigars that I was able to pick up for myself and a few buddies back home. Sam (forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm horrible with names) helped me on my first visit and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. I returned a second time before leaving town and received the same outstanding service from two other gentlemen whose names I unfortunately didn't catch. It's clear that customer service and cigar knowledge are priorities throughout the business. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the lounge during this trip, but based on my experience shopping there, I can confidently say this is one of the best cigar shops I've visited. The selection is outstanding, the prices are more than fair, and the atmosphere is welcoming whether you're a seasoned cigar smoker or just getting started. This is an easy 5-star rating from me, and Habana Port will definitely become a regular stop anytime I'm back in Baton Rouge.

Habana Port Cigar Merchants in Baton Rouge isn’t just a cigar shop—it’s a properly curated experience for anyone who takes their cigars seriously. The first thing that stands out is the range. This isn’t a place that leans only high-end or only budget—they’ve built a humidor that respects both sides of the hobby. You’ll find hard-to-track-down OpusX lines sitting in the same shop as solid, everyday economy smokes, with everything in between thoughtfully stocked. Whether you’re chasing unicorns or just grabbing a reliable daily smoke, they’ve got you covered without making it feel like a compromise either way. Their accessory game is just as strong. From staple cutters and lighters to high-end pieces from premium brands, it’s clear they didn’t treat accessories as an afterthought. It’s the kind of selection that lets you upgrade your setup in the same stop you’re picking your sticks. But what really separates Habana Port is how they run the place. The customer service is dialed in. From the moment you walk through the door to the time you check out, you’re met with people who actually know cigars—and more importantly, know how to guide you without hovering or upselling. They listen, they recommend, and they make sure you walk out with something you’ll genuinely enjoy. And then there’s the humidor setup. Instead of the typical open walk-in where everyone’s handling sticks, Habana Port keeps their cigars in display cabinets and shelving behind the counter. It’s a small shift that makes a big difference. You’re not digging through piles hoping your cigar hasn’t been squeezed, dropped, or mishandled. Everything feels protected, intentional, and preserved for the person who’s actually going to smoke it. Bottom line—Habana Port Cigar Merchants delivers where it matters: selection, quality, and service. It’s the kind of shop that respects the product and the customer equally, and that’s getting harder to find these days. If you’re anywhere near Baton Rouge go see Paul and Cameron behind the counter, it’s well worth the stop.

I purchased a Becker pipe from the vendor and they did not disclose that the pipe had multiple issues.. Charged me $400 as if the pipe was mint and when it arrived the tenon was replaced and was not disclosed and the finish was off of half the pipe.. When I called and requested to return the pipe, I was told no and my number was blocked. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR. VERY SHADY.

First time visiting and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They pointed me to the pipe tobacco I was looking for and had a good selection available. A few items were out of stock, but overall it was a great experience.
