We were celebrating friends birthday and wanted to try this new place, and we are so glad that we did . Lounge is beautiful, staff from the front desk was so kind and welcoming . Our server Gabbi was wonderful. We ordered a lot of food wanting to try many different things and everything was phenomenal . We will be back for sure . Kunafa and baklava were outstanding as well. Being from Balkan we are huge foodies this place didn’t disappoint 🫶 If your coming with big party 5 or more gratuity will be on there already just pay attention to your bill!

Went here on a whim. We enjoyed the atmosphere, it gave big city decor. They just opened up and have a very solid but limited menu as of right now. Didn’t get food but the hookah and Malbec was great. All of the employees are very nice and professional. Will be back
This place is very impressive the attention to detail, wow. The food, VERY FRESH. Gaby was our waitress, she was incredibly attentive. Here you’re paying for the ambience, gorgeous venue, fresh food, and great service. It’s worth the cost. Most of the negative reviews focus on the cost, not the service, food, or venue. This is a high quality venue, which is needed in Jacksonville. Overall Baran is a must, we will definitely be coming back. 10/10.
Baran Hookah Lounge is amazing! The hookah is top-notch — they make their own special blends, and every one I tried was smooth and flavorful. The food was surprisingly delicious too, not your typical lounge bites. I loved it so much! Great vibe, great service, and definitely worth visiting.
This review is in regards to our visit on Saturday May 30, 2026 at 7:00 pm for our party of 4. The Good: The environment is very upscale and unlike any other hookah lounge I have visited in Jacksonville so far. The hookah was very smooth and the food we tried (the mixed grill platter for 2 and the sucuklu pide) were both very good. The Bad: After enjoying our food and while we were still enjoying our hookah, our server (Gigi) approached us and asked if we would like to order anything else. We told her we were good. She continued to inform us that since they are busy they have a “house policy” that they need the table after 1 and a half hours and that she would give us 20 minutes before she had to turn the table over. This was very confusing to us as 1) the place was busy but there were several tables open including the entire bar top and not a single person waiting to be seated and 2) no where was this “house policy” mentioned on their website, menu or to us prior to ordering. If this was truly a “house policy” as she stated I feel that it would have been posted or spoken of so that patrons are aware of this before deciding to spend their time or money here. They are charging a premium for their hookah ($35) and the mixed grill platter for 2 was a whopping $80. After being charged such high prices and offering such a sophisticated environment, being asked to leave when no one was waiting for our table seemed a bit ridiculous. We asked our server to get another set of charcoals for the remaining 20 minutes she had given us. She informed us that we had already gotten our charcoals changed once and that an additional set of charcoals would cost $15. Again, a ridiculous price to charge for 2 charcoals. I encourage the owner to make this “house policy” known to their patrons for the future so they are aware before they decide to visit. Ultimately, the high prices combined with how we were then asked to “turn our table over” left us with a bad impression and we will not be returning here again.
